Chat
Channels, DMs, threads, mentions, and read cursors. Realtime is best-effort; the REST cursor is the source of truth.
Chat
Skrum is the all-in-one AI project control plane — team chat, tasks and sprints, native video meetings, and inbound code activity in one workspace, with every AI action waiting for a human yes.
Chat has channels (workspace scope), DMs (person-to-person), and group DMs. Every message can start a thread. Mentions notify the mentioned user through their notification preferences.
- Post. Type in the composer, Enter sends, Shift+Enter for a newline. Rich text and mentions autocomplete.
- Threads. Hover a message and press the thread icon. A thread is a side conversation attached to the original message.
- Read cursors. The unread indicator advances when you scroll to the last message. Sockets deliver in real time; if you reconnect, Skrum re-fetches from the cursor over REST — the socket never replays.
FAQ
- Do messages get deleted after a while? Free and Starter workspaces keep 90 days of history; older messages are archived (see Backup and restore).
- Can I invite non-members to a channel? Only workspace members. Guests can join public channels but not DM.
- File uploads? See Attachments and search.
