Features
Chat
Channels, DMs, threads, mentions, and read cursors. Realtime is best-effort; the REST cursor is the source of truth.
Skrum is the all-in-one AI project control plane — team chat, tasks and sprints, native video meetings, and inbound code activity in one workspace, with every AI action waiting for a human yes.
Chat has public rooms, invitation-only private rooms, DMs (person-to-person), and group DMs. Every message can start a thread. Room membership is checked again for messages, realtime delivery, and attached files.
- Create a room. Choose public or private, add an optional topic, and select the initial workspace members for a private room.
- Start a DM. Select one person for a direct message or several people for a group conversation. Reopening the same one-to-one DM returns to the existing room.
- Post and reply. Type in the composer, Enter sends, and Shift+Enter adds a newline. Use the thread action on a message for a focused side conversation.
- Reconnect safely. Sockets provide quick notifications; after a reconnect Skrum reconciles channels and messages through authorized REST requests.
FAQ
- Do messages get deleted after a while? Free and Starter workspaces keep 90 days of history; older messages are archived.
- Can I invite non-members to a private room or DM? No. Participants must be active members of the same workspace.
- File uploads? See Attachments and search.
